Overnight mortgage rates stand pat

30-year fixed holds at 5.21%; 10-year Treasury down at 3.84%

Long-term mortgage interest rates were flat again Wednesday, and the benchmark 10-year Treasury bond yield sank to 3.84 percent. The 30-year fixed-rate average remained at 5.21 percent, and the 15-year fixed-rate stayed at 4.5 percent. The 1-year adjustable was up slightly at 2.97 percent. The 30-year Treasury bond yield dropped to 4.77 percent. Rates are current as of 7:15 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. In other economic news, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 24 points, or 0.23 percent, finishing at 10,357.7. The Nasdaq was down 6.41 points, or 0.32 percent, closing at 1,994.22.
