Container Supply Co., owned by former California State Senator Robert S. Hurtt, acquired two industrial buildings totaling 156,330 square feet in Garden Grove, Calif.

The total value of the transaction was $9.7 million.

The buildings became available after the seller, Graphic Packaging International, a NYSE company, and a provider of paperboard products to the beverage and consumer products industries, decided to close its Orange County converting facility, according to their brokers Cushman & Wakefield’s Jeff Chiate and Rick Ellison.

The 80,250-square-foot and 76,080-square-foot 1960s vintage manufacturing buildings are located at 7340 Lampson Ave. and 12572 Monarch St., respectively. Both buildings are adjacent to Container Supply Co.’s headquarters and production facility at 12571 Western Ave.

Scott Smith of Lee & Associates represented Container Supply, a 54-year-old manufacturer of specialty cans and plastic containers.

Cushman & Wakefield is a privately held real estate services company operating worldwide.
