Overnight mortgage rates stand pat

30-year holds at 5.36%; 10-year Treasury up at 4.16%

Long-term mortgage interest rates were flat Wednesday, and the benchmark 10-year Treasury bond yield climbed to 4.16 percent. The 30-year fixed-rate average remained at 5.36 percent, and the 15-year fixed-rate stayed at 4.78 percent. The 1-year adjustable was down slightly at 3.21 percent. The 30-year Treasury bond yield increased to 4.96 percent. Rates are current as of 7:15 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. In other economic news, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 86.8 points, or 0.84 percent, finishing at 10,231.36. The Nasdaq was down 18.88 points, or 0.99 percent, closing at 1,896.52.
