Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance acquired the industrial building in Santa Fe Springs, Calif., where fashion powerhouse Liz Claiborne Inc. distributes its popular clothing line to the Southern California market.

The value of the transaction was not disclosed.

The 608,220-square-foot industrial building is located at 9400 Santa Fe Springs Road. The original building was developed in 1980 and served as the headquarters for Fedco, a food and product wholesale company. The building was redeveloped into nearly double its original size 10 years later. After the dissolution of the food wholesaler in 2000, Liz Claiborne leased the property.

Liz Claiborne Inc. distributes popular brands, such as Juicy Couture, Bora Bora, Ellen Tracy, Laundry by Shelli Segal, Lucky Brand Dungarees among other top retail names.

SSR Realty Advisors Inc. was the property’s seller.

Colliers Seeley International Inc. provides commercial real estate services throughout Southern California.
