HarmonHomes.com today announced that more property searches were performed for New York listings than for any other state this year. More than 1 million HarmonHomes.com visitors searched for a home in New York in 2004, the company reported. The next state with the most searches was California, with 614,833. Rounding out the 2004 top 10 most-searched states on HarmonHomes.com were (in this order) Pennsylvania, Florida, New Jersey, Illinois, Texas, Virginia, Georgia and Maryland. In a survey taken by AmericanHomeGuides.com, 45 percent of home buyers reportedly spent between one and three hours per week searching online for a new home. Nearly 14 percent of home buyers exceed six hours a week, with some searches lasting more than 10 hours. Recently partnered with Homes.com, HarmonHomes.com expects the number of searches in each state to increase after the first of the year.
