Lackluster night for real estate rates

30-year fixed rate at 5.78%; 10-year Treasury yield at 4.67%

Long-term mortgage interest rates were mostly unchanged Friday, and the benchmark 10-year Treasury bond yield rose to 4.67 percent. The 30-year fixed-rate average stayed at 5.78 percent, and the 15-year fixed rate dipped to 5.49 percent. The 1-year adjustable was up at 5.62 percent. The 30-year Treasury bond yield climbed to 4.85 percent. Rates and bonds are current as of 7:15 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Mortgage rate figures are according to Bankrate.com, which publishes nightly averages based on its survey of 4,000 banks in 50 states. Points on these mortgages range from zero to 3.5. In other economic news, the Dow Jones Industrial Average jumped 111.09 points, or 0.84 percent, finishing at 13,326.22. The Nasdaq was up 28.48 points, or 1.12 percent, closing at 2,562.22.
