He responded to a set of questions posed by Inman News:

What do you see happening in the real estate market in 2009?

All industries related to the residential real estate market will need to embrace fundamental change. There will be no time to evolve, and the need to change now will be mandated by a hugely changed market and consumer mindset.

What advice do you have to help real estate agents and brokers get through this market?

Be different, speak differently, and embrace what seems to be the future — now. Challenge others in the industry by setting a new standard and then doing things differently as a result. Be bold.

What sparked the idea to start your company?

The need in the industry for vision and guidance. The real estate industry is in need of a vision for the future and the business guidance to assure that it achieves improved results.

What’s been your biggest challenge in running the business?

Being in so many places at one time. The demand exceeds a 24/7 time allowance.

Can you share any future plans, goals?

Using 29 years of experience to reduce the fear of change, explain to opportunities of change and set the stage for a new industry built on new business principles and expectations for results.

What lesson did you learn in the last year?

There is a commonality between a great market and a bad market. At the time they are happening they never seem as though they will end.

What would your second career choice be and why?

The entertainment industry. I love to apply creativity to put a brighter face on reality and to make people smile.

What is the biggest problem in the real estate market today, and how would you fix it?

It has been and continues to be change. So many key decision-makers in the brokerage industry have their heads down in running businesses when they should have their heads up working on them. I am working with one brokerage at a time now and assisting in making change happen.

What do you most enjoy about working in the real estate industry?

The people: They are the heart of the industry and are all amazing entrepreneurs.

Tell us something we don’t already know about you …

I am most of the time a stand-up comedian misplaced in a sit-down world.

Kenneth Jenny, managing partner for Mediatise LLC, a consulting company, will serve as a moderator for the "Turning Visitors into Customers" session during an Internet Marketing Bootcamp workshop at the Real Estate Connect conference in New York City, which runs from Jan. 7-9, 2009.
