Real estate listings and valuation site Zillow.com is looking to turn over its travelling "Carnival of Real Estate" blog to anyone who’s ever hosted the collective blog.

Zillow launched the project in 2006 as a weekly showcase of the best content produced by real estate bloggers, but can no longer give it the attention it deserves, writes Michael Price, editor of Google’s Mortgages Unzipped blog.

Editor’s note: This story has been edited to correct that "Mortgages Unzipped" is a Zillow blog.

Real estate listings and valuation site Zillow.com is looking to turn over its travelling "Carnival of Real Estate" blog to anyone who’s ever hosted the collective blog.

Zillow launched the project in 2006 as a weekly showcase of the best content produced by real estate bloggers, but can no longer give it the attention it deserves, writes Michael Price, editor of Zillow’s Mortgages Unzipped blog.

Instead of shutting the collective blog down, Zillow is asking anyone who’s ever hosted the Carnival of Real Estate to submit an essay by May 15 detailing what they would do to "take it to the next level," Price said.

Zillow intends to turn over ownership of the CarnivalOfRealEstate.com domain and export the blog in its entirety to the winner’s host with "very few strings attached," Price said. The winner will be asked to maintain Zillow widgets in the sidebar and "the basic principles outlined by the blog carnival founders."
