Marnie Blanco, who led real estate franchisor Re/Max Inc.’s broker- and agent-facing technology initiatives for close to 10 years, is joining paperless real estate transaction management firm dotloop to help the start-up build relationships with brokers.

Blanco left Re/Max in December for a position with a telecommunications company, but wanted to get back to real estate, she said. She joins dotloop on Monday as executive director of strategic accounts where she will help steer the company’s products toward broker needs and work to encourage more brokers to use dotloop.

Cincinnati-based dotloop wanted to beef up its relationships with brokers, so it brought Blanco on board, said Austin Allison, CEO of dotloop. “Marnie brings expertise and experience about how brokers work,” he said.

Currently, 16 percent of Re/Max agents use the dotloop platform, Blanco said. She’s looking to boost that share, to match, for example, the 75 percent dotloop adoption rate among Keller Williams Realty’s agents.

In May 2012, dotloop, which was founded in 2009, had 35 to 40 employees. Now, Allison said, it has 105 employees in its headquarters in Cincinnati, a relatively new office in San Francisco and now Denver, where Blanco lives and the company expects to open an office.

In December, the firm announced it had signed up five state associations on its platform. It now works with six: Arizona, Delaware, Georgia, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Vermont. Also last year, dotloop hired Move Inc. vet Chad Humphrey to head up its industry relations efforts.
