Whisper listings? Your clients’ best interests are better served by shouting

Second-generation Realtor Danai Mattison of The Mattison Group says “pocket listings” and “whisper listings” that are quietly marketed outside the MLS are not as prevalent as the media sometimes makes them out to be, but will always be part of the residential real estate landscape.

Personally, Mattison thinks that not publicizing information about a listing out in the open does a disservice to sellers. But she’s hoping the practice will dissipate as more inventory comes online and the current seller’s market becomes more of a buyer’s market.
