• Don't use the upcoming holiday season as an excuse to take the winter off.

  • The rule of thumb is that 10 percent of your COI will be doing a transaction in any given year -- and you should be the agent handling those transactions.

It’s fall, and a lot of agents start to slow down this time of year — but trust me when I tell you that there huge opportunities out there in your market, so don’t use the upcoming holiday season as an excuse to take the winter off. During this time of year, you should be working to expand your center of influence (COI), which is the focus of today’s show.

By connecting with your center of influence, you show them that you care, and you remain their “agent of choice” for transactions that they undertake in the coming months. Remember, the rule of thumb is that 10 percent of your COI will be doing a transaction in any given year — and you should be the agent handling those transactions.

People still buy and sell real estate during the holidays, and by engaging with them in positive way, you’re able to stay on top of those transactions in an seasonally appropriate venue. Today’s show isn’t just about the holidays, though — we’re going through the entire 12-month calendar to discuss how you can maintain your COI through the entire year.

Want to learn the details about how you can be sensitive to seasonal changes in your market? Tune in to today’s episode, where we continue our discussion of a step-by-step, 12-month lead-generation plan to help you maintain and effectively prospect your COI and past clients.
