Inman News is the premier source for news, insight and analysis for the residential real estate industry. We operate a substantial news organization, as well as portfolio of events that include Real Estate Connect and Agent Reboot. The company is in a growth mode, and the goal of this position is to help the company drive engagement and build traffic for its web site, increase paid subscriptions/memberships and attendance at events via effective email marketing.
About the position:
We are looking for a highly driven, smart and seasoned professional to lead all aspects of our email marketing channel. As the Email Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for the strategy, development and operations of blast, triggered and lifecycle email campaigns that drive user engagement and monetization via subscription and conversion to event registrations.
We need a self-starter who can prioritize multiple projects, work under tight deadlines and has a fanatical attention to detail. You have expert knowledge of email marketing best practices to maximize creative, segmentation, and deliverability. The successful candidate possesses a metrics-driven mindset, believes in habitual testing (A/B split / Multivariate) and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Primary Responsibilities include:
- Drive retention, re-engagement and monetization through the email channel by partnering with cross functional partners to develop and deploy email campaigns that drive user engagement and loyalty
- Manage operational logistics and provide best practice expertise to the team on strategy, segmentation, creative, coding (including dynamic emails) and deployment
- Ensure solid deliverability through monitoring spam complaint rates, domain performance and ISP engagement metrics
- Manage relationship with Email Service Provider and investigate other email solutions
- Work closely with production department to build tools that optimize email deployment, scalability and results
- Integrate social initiatives and techniques into email, thereby closing the loop between social and email
Qualifications
Education and Experience Required:
- BA/BS degree
- At least 4 years of demonstrated success in email marketing from development to delivery
- Advanced knowledge of email marketing best practices including lifecycle strategies, event-triggered/transactional emails, creative development and deliverability
- Demonstrated ability to manage high volume email programs
- Experience managing and using Email Service Providers and other email solutions
- Working knowledge of HTML and email template development
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to work with a cross-functional team to drive results
- Results and metrics driven with experience with A/B or Multivariate testing
- Self-starter with ability to thrive under pressure in a fast paced environment
- Experience with social media, consumer web, or virality a plus
- Experience managing programs with multiple brands or enterprise-level, a plus
- International email marketing knowledge a plus
