Prudential to buy eRealty

Prudential Real Estate and Relocation Services is negotiating a deal to purchase eRealty, an online real estate brokerage headquartered in Houston, Texas, Inman News has learned.

The deal is expected to close early next week.

No one at either company was available to comment late Friday afternoon.

The Prudential real estate franchise network has more than 1,600 franchise offices and 44,000 sales associates in the United States and Canada.  more...

Federal injunction against real estate price fixing

A federal court has issued an injunction against price-fixing by five Realtor associations in the San Diego area and Sandicor, a regional MLS owned by those associations.

The injunction stems from a March 2003 Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals decision in Arleen Freeman vs. San Diego Association of Realtors, in which the court declared that Sandicor and the five Realtor associations had illegally fixed prices of MLS services in San Diego County.  more...
