Terabitz -- the Silicon Valley company that helps real estate brokers build sophisticated Web sites with beefed-up content -- has launched a search application that allows iPhone users to access property listings and neighborhood information.

The iPhone search application will eventually be available to the public wherever Terabitz has broker partners that provide access to the local MLS.  more...

World Kitchen renews 1 million square feet

Matrix Development Group on Wednesday announced a 1.03 million-square-foot lease renewal for World Kitchen LLC for warehouse and industrial space in Greencastle, Pa.

The value of the transaction was not disclosed.

The space, located in the Matrix Business Park at 1200 South Antrim Way, is occupied solely by World Kitchen, which manufactures and markets bakeware, dinnerware, and kitchen and household tools sold under the brands CorningWare, Pyrex and Corelle.  more...

Adify, Metro Poly, Dole fill up Bay Area space

NAI BT Commercial recently brokered the leasing of 180,764 square feet of office and industrial space in three separate deals in the San Francisco Bay Area.

The total value of the transactions was not disclosed.

In the first deal, Adify, a company involved with vertical online advertising, signed a lease for 28,537 square feet in San Bruno. The space is located at 1000 Cherry Ave. at the Bayhill II office project. Adify, which occupied the entire second floor of the building in February 2008, was subleasing the space from The GAP.  more...

Austin retail sells in 1031 exchange

Spectrus Real Estate today announced it represented the seller in the sale of Anna Plaza in Austin, Texas, via a 1031 exchange.

A private buyer based in the San Francisco Bay Area purchased the property for an undisclosed amount from an unidentified entity.

Anna Plaza comprises 75,000 square feet of retail space and is located at 13201 Ranch Road 620 North. At the time of sale, the property was anchored by a Wal-Mart Supercenter, Lowe's Home Improvement Center and Office Depot.  more...

Craigslist expands worldwide

Craigslist.org, the online community for local classified listings in cities across the globe, is expanding into approximately 120 new cities, according to a blog post by founder Craig Newmark at cnewmark.com.

According to a fact sheet at craigslist.org, the service previously was available in 450 cities worldwide, which means the new additions would bring craigslist's coverage to some 670 cities.  more...

MGIC boosts revenue, raises capital in Q1

The parent company of Mortgage Guaranty Insurance Corp. lost $34.4 million in the first quarter, but investors were cheered that revenues grew 14.7 percent from a year ago, to $423.9 million, and that the company is raising capital to restore the financial strength rating it needs to continue writing new insurance.  more...

Report: Economic outlook less dismal

After five straight months of declines, The Conference Board's U.S. leading index for March showed a slight uptick in the outlook for the economy.

According to a report released today by the group, money supply, vendor performance and interest-rate spread pushed the index up 0.1 percent last month to a reading of 102 despite large negative impacts from rising jobless claims and lower building permit numbers and stock prices.  more...

Weichert sends listings to Homes.com

Weichert, Realtors, a large brokerage company based in New Jersey, seeks to boost national online exposure for property listings through a new partnership with real estate portal Homes.com.

Under the agreement, Weichert, a privately held real estate company, will send some 40,000 property listings for display at Homes.com.  more...

Freddie Mac: Mortgage rates flat this week

Long-term mortgage rates barely budged this week, mirroring last week's activity, Freddie Mac reported today.

The average rate on 30-year fixed loans held steady at 5.88 percent, while the average rate on 15-year fixed loans dipped to 5.4 percent from last week's 5.42 percent. A year ago the 30-year fixed averaged 6.17 percent and the 15-year averaged 5.89 percent.  more...

Overnight real estate rates up again

Long-term mortgage interest rates continued higher Wednesday, and the benchmark 10-year Treasury bond yield rose to 3.68 percent.

The 30-year fixed-rate average climbed to 5.81 percent, and the 15-year fixed rate gained to 5.39 percent. Meanwhile, the 1-year adjustable rate rose to 5.74 percent.

The 30-year Treasury bond yield was up at 4.49 percent.
