Large real estate brokers add listings access to bank site

Some of the country's largest real estate companies have joined Bank of America's Preferred Real Estate Broker Network and signed onto the company's online Real Estate Center.

Weichert Realtors, Prudential California Realty, Allen Tate Realtors and Baird & Warner are now providing access to their online listings to customers visiting the bank's Web-based Real Estate Center, the bank announced Friday.  more...

Overnight real estate rates slide

Long-term mortgage interest rates were down Friday, and the benchmark 10-year Treasury bond yield gained to 4.18 percent.

The 30-year fixed-rate average dipped to 5.31 percent, and the 15-year fixed-rate sank to 4.91 percent. The 1-year adjustable was unchanged at 3.86 percent.  more...

South Carolina real estate heats up

Home sales in South Carolina climbed 19 percent in July from a year ago, the South Carolina Association of Realtors reported.

Realtors recorded 7,122 sales last month, up from 5,976 in July 2004.

Prime retail space sold in San Francisco

Colliers International completed the sale of two retail properties previously owned by the McEvoy Family Trusts in the heart of San Francisco's Union Square.

The deals totaled approximately 28,153 square-feet of space and $16.9 million in value.

The Cartier building, located at 233 Post St., sold to Angelo and Yvonne Sangiacomo for approximately $13.3 million. The square footage of the recently purchased asset totaled approximately 24,043 square-feet.   more...

NewBridge Retail Advisors recently served as advisor in the sale of Southbrook Village in Alabaster, Ala.

The value of the transaction was not disclosed.

Southbrook Village is a 134,777-square-foot Bruno's shadow-anchored community center located at the intersection of Alabama Hwy. 119 and U.S. Hwy. 31. The center is anchored by a 55,000-square-foot Bruno's (not owned), CATO Fashions, Shoe Department, Hallmark Crown Store and Dollar General.

Real estate antitrust probe closes in Oklahoma

A U.S. Department of Justice investigation into possible anti-competitive tactics against discount real estate brokers in Tulsa, Okla., has closed, according to the town's Realtor association.

In April, the Justice Department's Antitrust Division contacted the Greater Tulsa Association of Realtors with a civil investigative demand, Al Unser, the association's executive director, confirmed.  more...
