Transwestern recently negotiated the lease of 74,690 square feet of warehouse space at Mykawa Industrial Park in Houston, Texas, for an undisclosed price.

Dupuy Storage Houston LLC, whose parent company Dupuy Storage & Forwarding LLC offers full-service facilities for processing and handling coffee, tea and other commodities, will occupy space located at 7170 and 7188A Mykawa. Countrywide cuts back on pay-option, ARM loan funding

RealEstate.com, which is operated by LendingTree LLC, has announced a Web site redesign that is intended to enhance property searches, and also announced a new "warm transfer" lead-generation program that immediately connects online consumers with real estate agents via telephone.

RealEstate.com has real estate brokerage operations and also operates an online lead-generate business for a network of real estate agents.

Subprime mortgage lender HSBC Finance Corp. is revising its loan loss provisions for 2006 by 20 percent to $10.6 billion as second-lien loans go bad at a faster rate than anticipated, the company said.  more...

Little change in overnight real estate rates

Long-term mortgage interest rates barely budged Thursday, and the benchmark 10-year Treasury bond yield stayed at 4.73 percent.

The 30-year fixed-rate average dipped to 5.78 percent, and the 15-year fixed rate held at 5.57 percent. The 1-year adjustable increased to 5.38 percent.

The 30-year Treasury bond yield decreased to 4.84 percent.

Rates are current as of 7:15 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.

Mortgage rate figures are according to Bankrate.com, which publishes nightly averages based on its survey of 4,000 banks in 50 states.  more...

$7 billion real estate deal closes in NYC

Macklowe Properties today announced the acquisition of eight class A Manhattan office buildings from Equity Office Properties for $7 billion. 

The buildings in this transaction include: 717 Fifth Ave., Worldwide Plaza, 1301 Avenue of the Americas, Park Avenue Tower, 527 Madison Ave., 1540 Broadway, 850 Third Ave. and Tower 56, and comprise approximately 6.5 million square feet.

Financing was provided by Deutsche Bank and Fortress Investment Group, according to a press statement.

Rubbermaid lease to bring jobs to SoCal

Atlanta-based Newell Rubbermaid has secured a 10-year, 407,612-square-foot lease for bulk distribution space at a logistics center in Victorville, Calif.
