JBG sheds D.C. assets

The JBG Cos. has sold a historic office building and a soon-to-be-built 10-story office tower in Washington, D.C., for an undisclosed price.

Dweck Properties purchased the project, located at 51 Louisiana Ave. and 300 New Jersey Ave., respectively.

Designed by the New York firm of Shreve, Lamb and Hamon (architects for the Empire State Building) and built in 1935, 51 Louisiana Ave. has 205,580 square feet of office space.  more...

N. Virginia tenants expand offices

Normandy Real Estate Partners today announced 65,000 square feet of recent leasing activity in the Washington, D.C., area.

In Chantilly, Va., AOC Solutions Inc., an e-commerce and data management company for the government and private sector, expanded and extended its current lease at Glenview II to 20,000 square feet. Also at Glenview II, Keller Williams Realty Inc., an international real estate company with more than 600 offices in the United States and Canada, leased 6,785 square feet of office space.  more...

Trulia co-founder snubs marketing waste

Sami Inkinen

Sami Inkinen co-founded real estate search company Trulia with Pete Flint in 2004 while they were studying for their MBAs at Stanford University.

Inkinen and Flint say they worked closely with real estate agents and brokers to understand their needs as well as leading computer scientists to build the service.

Inkinen now serves as COO of Trulia. He will speak at Real Estate Connect in San Francisco, July 23-25, 2008.
