The Internet question
NEW YORK -- A panel of New York power brokers on Monday fielded questions from Inman News publisher Bradley Inman about what's hot in Manhattan real estate, what's not and how the Web has changed their business. Richard Ferrari of Prudential Douglas Elliman said, "It's not that the Internet has changed our business, it is our business." He said that while most business does still come by referral, hits at his site grow substantially each year.
Louise Phillips Forbes, SVP of Halstead Property, said that many times people will go to her site after seeing it on a billboard for a new development, decide that's not the right place for them, but check out other developments she represents and contract her services afterall.
The Web has become a kind of broker itself.
