To Stand Out, Provide A Unique Service To Your Client

Real estate is a personal service business. To stand out from the crowd, you have give your clients something others don't. If you do, those clients will give you priceless word of mouth advertising and referrals. You might even get some press in the local newspaper or the blogging community.

But how do you create a unique service for clients? Perhaps luxury pampering Rosewood Hotels & Resorts will provide some inspiration. Here are two examples of their personal service touches:

Use of a Free Digital Camera. Guests are given a digital camera to use during their stay. The guests tour the city and just snap away. At the end of the stay, the hotel transfers all the photos to a CD and gives it to the client (surely with some nice Rosewood branding on the CD). When the guests return home to show their friends their vacation photos, they'll gush about how nice Rosewood was to provide this service.

Personal GPS. Forget about those cumbersome and confusing maps that tear in the wind and you can't refold properly. Rosewood provides guests with their own personal GPS, the iQue M3, to navigate them through town. Using your finger as a stylus, it will map your route to the museum or that great restaurant you heard about. It's all part of their Travel NaviGuide Program.

Using one of these as an example, let's say you're taking clients to see new construction models. Lend them a camera to take photos (their active involvement in the walk-through may keep them from getting bored or distracted). When you get back to the office, transfer the photos to a CD with your logo, smiling face and telephone number on it.

Tell us about any unique personal services you know about?
