Shift Happens

Wow, check out this video from YouTube, Most of it reflects upon issues of a more global nature,  but each of us can learn from it.

My thoughts: Nearly every high school senior who graduates this spring will have been exposed to their first computer before they entered kindergarten. Each one of them is more likely to have sent a text message on a cell phone than to have punched keys on a typewriter. The chances that more than a handful of them will enter the home-buying market without referencing the Internet in some part seems impossible.

People like to refer to the last decade as the Internet Revolution, but the information reformation has barely even begun! When it comes to Redfin, Zillow, or all of us bloggers, the ways we currently market real estate online today will be irrelevant a decade from now.

Now is the time to accelerate your understanding of how the Web is growing. MySpace, podcasting, YouTube, and whatever else is coming. Stay on top of it, and always look for ways to leverage it. The next generation of buyers will be far more impressed with your participation on the cutting edge of the Internet than a recipe card, or football schedule sent in the mail.
