Finding New Clients on Social Networks
By Joel Burslem, Thursday, February 22, 2007.A Columbia, Missouri-based Realtor has struck upon a novel way to find new clients online. He's started using his MySpace.com profile to find prospective clientele, so says the Columbia Missourian.
“I needed to find a way to network that wasn’t intrusive,” Ursery said. He said he found asking people to add him as a friend on MySpace less intrusive than knocking on doors or making cold calls.
Surprisingly, this approach has been successful. This Realtor now has over 1,500 friends on his profile and has found with 15 new clients as a result of his efforts.
Social networks like ActiveRain and LinkedIn have become incredibly popular ways for real estate professionals to network with each other, but I hadn't heard of anyone successfully using them to connect with consumers - until now.
So, how many of you are prospecting in cyberspace right now?
