Mortgagelinkation
By toddwcarpenter@gmail.com, Friday, February 23, 2007.One reason I wanted to blog here at Inman was to share a bit of what's happening in the mortgage world with this blog's largely realty-based readership. Maybe once a week, or every couple weeks, I'll post a little mortgagelinkation for your enjoyment.
NAR went to DC recently to discuss predatory lending. Some folks on the Mortgage Grapevine were less than pleased. Of course, a sour mood among mortgage professionals is quite expected in these tumultuous times. With lenders dropping left and right, the near future is quite uncertain for many in the industry. However, some companies are weathering the storm better than others. For the latest rumors on which lender will be the next to crumble, check out the Mortgage Lender Implode-O-Meter.
On the positive side of things, I've spent a few nights cruising the blogosphere last week, seeking out candidates for my blogger search engine. I was lucky enough to stumble across a great marketing blog from mortgage guru, Bliss Sawyer. She has some good ideas that would also translate well to real estate agents. The liveliest blogosphere conversation on mortgages this week was born from Rhonda Porter's suggestion that 15-year mortgages are not always the best option. Personally, I agree with her.
