More than another passing trend

Here's an update on the first Real Estate Bloggers Connect conference set for July 31-Aug. 1, 2007 in San Francisco:

In the spirit of creating a user-generated conference, Inman News has formed a Steering Committe to help shape topics, panels and speakers. The Steering Committee had its first meeting on Wednesday and we're excited to say that it went very well. Real estate bloggers seem to be really excited for the opportunity 1) to meet each other, since many have been emailing and blogging buddies for some time, and 2) to dive into blogging issues and tech topics that stimulate innovation in their daily blogging adventures.

Plus, there's a lot of fun stuff planned. Pat Kitano, chief bloggger at TransparentRE.com and local San Franciscan, is trying to set up a blogger's basketball romp for those visiting during the event. Inman News is planning a bash for bloggers like no other. And there are a good 5 months to get in on the Re.net Waist-loss challenge from Greg Swann at Bloodhound Blog.
