A for-sale sign but nobody's home

The U.S. Census Bureau today announced that the rate of unoccupied homes for sales in relation to the total inventory of homes hit an all-time record at 2.8 percent in the first quarter. A high homeownership vacancy rate can indicate speculative activity and an over-supply of units. (See Inman News.)
