More from the Hyperlocal Blogging Front

Neighborhood_35 CityBlogUSA.com is the latest in a string of web services looking to jump on the hyperlocal blogging trend -- that is, blogging or generating content about specific streets, neighborhoods and cities.

ActiveRain's Localism.org, YourStreet.com and the very quiet MyHouseKey project are just a few of the others chasing the same goal. You could probably throw Trulia Voices and Zillow's Home Q&A into the same pot as well.

CityBlogUSA has taken a slightly different approach however, building its site on the WordPress MU (Multi User) platform and registering unique URLs for each state it plans on operating in. For example:

It's an interesting strategy and one that certainly promises to be contender, based on the particular Search Engine Optimization (SEO) strengths of that combination. Of course the network is nothing without the content and the community - and it remains to be seen if they can bring those to the table as well.

In slightly related news, Outside. In, another local blogging portal that has taken a slightly different tack by aggregating blog posts based on geographic locale, has launched new blogger maps that track individual locations written about by individual bloggers. Here's an example of a map created from posts from the popular blog BoingBoing.
