With only the slightest hint of self-promotional fanfare, Hanin Levin's Grow-a-brain recently rolled past 9 million page views. When I e-mailed him about this benchmark, his comment was that he was holding off posting about it until a real landmark was surpassed (10 million). Meanwhile, many real estate blogs will never attract anywhere close to seven-figure traffic.

Hanan, a real estate professional in California, has been blogging for four years now, and lays claim to the title of "Original Real Estate Blog". He's also the first blogger to go seek out other RE.net bloggers. Yet beyond this effort, his blog has very little to do with real estate. In may opinion, that's one of the primary reasons it's successful, and why most real estate blogs languish.

Blogging, like any other marketing, is all about increasing your sphere of influence. Many agents spend too much time trying to prove their expertise, and not enough time building a blog that potential clients might actually want to read. If you are a gearhead real estate agent, try blogging about hot rods. If you are an avid hiker, why not blog about local trails? One of the beauties of blogging is that you can have more than one of them. Try dedicating one blog to real estate, and another to whatever interests you.

Today, I will be meeting with about 30 RE Bloggers and nearly as many interested parties. I'll be speaking on the topic of "What should I blog about?". Hanan will be my primary role model.

Blogging is a great way to attract traffic and show that you are truly knowledgeable in your field. The difficult part is to sell your blog and make it popular among the relevant community and whoever might be interested.
In that sense, web directories have been more useful with comprehensive real estate information, images and details. For example, www.Havens-Of-Manhattan.com - an online resource for Manhattan condos and co-ops.

Someone posted this link http://www.fakepaycheckstubs.com on my blog...are you kidding me? Is this legal? No wonder why the subprime mortgage crisis is hitting us so hard..,...heck, why dont we give driver licenses to illegal immigrants who cross the border. Then, give them access to computers so they can join in and "fake how much they make" to get a home loan so they can join the subprime meltdown too! Great idea! OH GEEZ! check it out yourself at http://www.fakepaycheckstubs.com
