When there's blood on the streets

Buy land. That famous real estate investment advice from Baron Rothschild came to mind today in light of the opportunity that exists for the strongest of lenders to come out of this mess in a more dominant position than ever before. Despite announced layoffs of their own, Suntrust Mortgage Company found the offer from some of ABC's former employees too good to pass up. They've brought on dozens (maybe even hundreds) of sales professionals, management, and even divisional resources. They've picked up large pools of sales staff from Aegis and Homecomings as well.

Clearly, much strife is still coming for the mortgage industry. But for the last lender(s) standing, the future is rife with opportunity.
