A man not easily forgotten
By Jessica Swesey, Wednesday, September 26, 2007.
Today was a difficult day at Inman News as we learned of the tragic passing of Robert Bruss, the nationally syndicated real estate columnist whom we've had the pleasure of working with for many years.
Bob was as sweet as they come -- a real no-nonsense kind of guy who stood up for home ownership and educating consumers on the biggest purchase of their lives. I have always admired Bob's limitless knowledge of real estate and credit him with the majority of my own real estate education. He was a real superman to writers everywhere, having written seven columns every week for many many years.
Inman News will be publishing the remainder of Bob's last columns over the next two weeks as we know he would've wanted his words to be put to use.
It's a sad day for real estate publishing and we will miss him dearly.
UPDATE: A memorial service for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, October 3 at 6 p.m. at Crosby N. Gray & Co. in Burlingame, Calif. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bruss' memory may be sent to: Edina Educational Fund, 5701 Normandale Road, Edina, MN 55424.
