Lawyers really are recession-proof

New York Times has a story today about a disgruntled homeowner who's suing her buyer's agent because her home lost value right after she purchased it. (See, "Feeling Misled on Home Price, Buyers Sue Agent.")

Tons to discuss here, including:

1. If she wins, what does this do to buyers agency? Seems like it would be too costly to keep up the E&O insurance on this line of biz after a case like that.

2. The housing downturn is just as much an emotional story as it is a business story.

3. Even in an economic downturn, lawyers will have business as people become even more prone to sue each other.

4. While writing up this blog post, I noticed there isn't an entry at the InmanWiki for buyer's agency. Any takers?
