"Good evening. This is an extraordinary period for America's economy.
"Over the past few weeks, many Americans have felt anxiety about their finances and their future. I understand their worry and their frustration..."

What mind? Bush sounded like someone who had no idea of what he was talking about. Which he has proved time and again he does not. At least he took time out of his busy schedule to address a problem that has been going on for many months. A whole 14 minutes in prime time! What a guy!

Great Title Line. I'm a lifelong Republican, but I've been wondering what's on the President's mind for the past 8 years!!!

Bush Administration policies are not only a "great catastrophe" but the products of a disturbed mind, according to this provocative blend of psychological case-study and partisan polemic.

Well joking about the President's mind aside... I think there is a lot he isn't telling us. I have never seen such a rush to agreement. The fact that W is open to imput from the Democrats is pretty scary in and of itself.
I shudder to think of what it is they aren't talking about. My gut feeling is that the banks that made loans to unqualified borrowers should go ahead and fail. But it is what they aren't telling us that makes me feel like maybe the bailout may actually be the right move.
