Failure and dashed dreams are what the video shows...
They are always sad to watch, but they also can provide a lesson in a lot of cases. A lesson to those that lived it and to those that watch as it happens to others around them.
Don't live within your means, live well under the upper limit, because things can and do happen...
Every good trait can become bad if used to excess; "reaching for the stars, is good until it becomes over extension!"...
Congress doesn't need to enact new regulation, they need to enforce the old...
Cronyism (in the secondary market and elsewhere)hurts everyone except the cronies...
If the answer to a complex problem is very simple, it is usually incomplete...

So sad, It is hard to believe that people would leave their personal family memories behind.
I have purchased foreclosures before though and I know first hand.

Unbridled urban sprawl mixed with a lack oversight and regulation for mortgage brokers is pretty ugly...
I can't believe they are still sprawling in Southern California. With density you reduce your carbon footprint, consume less farmland/wilderness, reduce transportation costs, and get rid of that sense of isolation that young couple expressed in the documentary.
Also from a market perspective restricting sprawl keeps prices higher by constricting supply of single family houses...
