Bake me a cake as fast as you can ...

Angela Logan's bake sale, in which she sold more than 500 "mortgage apple cakes" at $40 apiece, has allowed her to make her mortgage payment and keep her home, The Record of Bergen County newspaper reported.
Logan had sought to sell 100 cakes in order to make payments to her lender, Bank of America, and qualify for a loan modification, according to the report, and a local hotel allowed her to use some kitchen space to meet the demand.
"I won't stop baking until people stop ordering," she told the newspaper. "It's been an outpouring of people wanting to help, and I want them to get their cakes. It'll be awhile, and I'm asking everyone to be patient."

What a creative way to find to help herself.
I hope it allows her the loan mod so she can keep her home.

On one hand, it's sad to see the lengths people must go to, to keep their homes, and on the other it's great to see so many people trying to help out, and buy a cake.

I think this is great! Miss Logan had an idea and followed through. How many people actually do that? It's nice the hotel is helping her and she's helping herself. No handouts or walking away from her responsibilities. Very refreshing. How do I order a cake???

That's a very motivational story, everything is possible if we could only do it and have faith in it.

This is awesome. Too often, we here at Brewer Caldwell see owners give up and take the easy road out.

What's really motivational about this is how she took action. I meet many home owners in today's market that seem perfectly content with letting their home go into foreclosure, to my surprise.
It's something I couldn't fathom putting my family through. Like Angela, I'd figure something out before I threw in the towel.

wow... that's amazing and ambition and drive we all need. Its so easy to let a house go and not make the payments but so hard to keep it together. I'm going to hang to this story on my wall to motivate me. Thanks for the posts.

This is a great story. Hard work and a little creativity can go far! If she truly enjoys making cakes, she can make a full-time run of it. People will always need to eat, so it's safe to say that it's recession-proof. Plus, cakes can be shipped nowadays! BRAVO!
