Arrol Gellner is a practicing architect with 30 years' experience in residential and commercial architecture. He is a graduate of the College of Environmental Design at the University of California at Berkeley.

Gellner's column, Architext, appears in newspapers nationwide, include the Chicago Tribune, Los Angeles Times and San Francisco Chronicle.

Gellner is the author of several books on historic architecture. He is also a frequent speaker on design subjects, and has served on panels with some of California's most distinguished architects.

Gellner works in a renovated turn-of-the-century fire hose factory near San Francisco. He also maintains an office and a home in Suzhou, China, where he spends his summers. His other interests include classic cars and music recording.
