Helene Lesel
Helene Lesel is author of the syndicated “Rental Savvy” column, which has appeared in the Los Angeles Times since 2001. Handling rental property since 1985, Ms. Lesel works both with tenants and landlords in understanding their rights - and the right way to assert them. Her interest in real estate started young, while tagging along with her dad, walking his construction sites. By nine she was reading the Sunday Real Estate section, rearranging the developer’s floorplans and enjoying the articles. At ten, her sister bought her a quarter-scale furniture template. Ms. Lesel graduated with honors from California State University at Northridge, where she majored in Business Administration and Finance. Professionally, she manages rental property, and as a licensed realtor, specializing in income property.
