Turn That Engine Over!
Posted in Northwest Inhabitants By Austin Smith, Tuesday, December 2, 2008.Hello Northwest!
Of all the groups i am part of, this is the only one where my recent post stands alone. This just can't be!
As fellow inhabitants of the beautiful Northwest region, we (the members of this group) are part of an as yet untapped community that holds the promise of new friends, some great advice, and plenty of room for some heated debate!!
I just wanted to encourage my fellow westerners to speak their mind, don't be sheepish. I would like to hear what you all have to say! Ill even start:
Where are you all from? I currently live in Missoula, Montana and grew up in the Bitterroot valley. For those of you not familiar with the area, the Bitterroot range of the Rocky Mountains is one of the most beautiful, frightening, and rewarding stretches of earth that i have ever seen. I grew up in the mountains, my family's home being at the base of the Sapphire range on the eastern side of the valley. We relied on the woods not only for recreation, but also for life: firewood, meat, and sanity. Nothing is more peaceful than spending time in the woods, no sounds but the animals hidden in the brush around you, no buildings to block your view from the mountain lakes teeming with fish. The city is a different kind of jungle, and i encourage any of you out there that have not experienced the woods to take a trip. Nothing fancy, just grab your hiking boots and some granola bars and you'll be able to track down some memories.
Well thats enough of me waxing philosophical. I hope my tangent from the topic of real estate will spark some of you to reply, for i greatly look forward to meeting my Northwest neighbors.
