AGENTS and CAPITAL...where's the value? A website just isn't enough!!!!

Well, these are the best of times.....and then there's NOW! I recently joined a group of our agents in a “Building Social Capital” workshop that we hosted at our training center. Our agents were literally drawing pictures that depicted the inter-connections between their spheres of influence and learning how to grow the inter-connections between people they know who don’t know each other. If it’s a “small world after all”, agents of the future need to learn how to make these connections and more.

Do Linked-In, Facebook, Twitter and MySpace enhance, eliminate or harm the interaction we have with our human networks? I’m honestly not sure! To talk to some agents, they spend 1-2 hours a day with these activities. I think the future of real estate will be centered on how effectively agents can leverage these tools to communicate with their clients from initial contact through closing. There will be no middle of the road on this. Agents (or companies for that matter) that can’t-or won’t-adapt to these new processes will be forced out of business. For those who adapt.. the future looks brighter than ever!

Social media is the only way to go these days when it comes to marketing.

Here are a couple of simple things you can do: Register your address in google maps,
Get a twitter account, if you're not already start blogging, set up a facebook group, create a community focused website that's NOT just about you.

You can't beat social media for growing your profile in a cost effective way.
