Google Base Housing search inserted to main Google SERPs

Hey all,

I've begun noticing Google inserting housing searches above the #1 organic for real estate related searches on their main search. Not sure how long this has been in place for various markets.

I wrote a post describing it along with a couple ways real estate pros might use this at the Union Street Internet Marketing and Technology for Real Estate blog

The short version is: "listing as content."

Hey G

Google has been doing this since at least a year now (see http://www.futureofrealestatemarketing.com/another-hint-at-google-real-e...). The results are being pulled from Google base - which if you're an agent and you're not dumping your listings in there, you're missing a big opportunity.

D'oh!

Thanks for the heads up Joel (post now edited). I hadn't bumped into it consistently for many of the searches I was watching until the past week or so. I get you a drink at Connect.

This was some good information; I've added my listings and started getting some referral visits to my site. I wish it didn't expire in 14 days though.

I'm glad you liked it, Frank.

You may want to look into a service that will handle the syndication for you. My firm does this for our clients, but there are lots of options out there.

I use Point2 to market my listings to GoogleBase and dozens of other places with just one click. It has a 6 month free trial and then under $10 a month. It also comes with a nice website and dozens of other things. I really recommend it.
