Mike, I didn't. And, OH! I have not heard the end of it!!! But I'm a die-hard Google-fan. I use EVERYTHING those guys make. So I wanted something that would be THE MOST compatible. But more than that--I'm one of those people that hate being 'locked' into things. And that's the way I feel about itunes and my ipod ---and I just didn't want to go there with my phone, no matter how freakin' cool those things are! And, I'll admit, they are smokin' hot :) But I'm not kidding you when I say, I am not the cool kid on the bus after that choice. Alisha Alisha Alway Braatz, Broker

  • Hi Friends!!! Wow! I woke up
By Alisha Alway Braatz, High End OregonJanuary 26, 2011 - 10:51am

Hi Friends!!! Wow! I woke up this morning and got to work---and suddenly realized I've started a TigerMom-like debate--yowzers! I am deeply gratified that my columns get read and illicit responses, positive and negative. That's good stuff. This article was written as a humor column with two points in mind: 1. Be careful how you use Facebook; be careful how you use any online program! As many of you have pointed out, there are tools to make FB work for business. I actually have a HighEndOregon fan site on Facebook! But the aweful truth is that the vast majority of FB users do not implement the business tools available to them, and thus, mix business with pleasure. I apologize for not making this distinction. 2. We Inman readers tend to be the "early adopters" of technology and social media. My take is that we forget how ahead of the curve we are! If you can fathom it, some Brokers I know are still using rotary phones and actually holding open houses! (okay, see that was a little humor there) I love the fact that this article spurred debate (although I think the consensus is if you are not using Facebook you are the dull knife in the drawer). I am rarely a literalist--- but in this case, I am sticking to my guns. If you want to be a fan of me (HIGHENDOREGON) and you are under 30, I might block you. :) Alisha Alway Braatz, Broker Premier Central Oregon Real Estate

Alisha Alway Braatz, Broker Premier Central Oregon Real Estate Paul-- First of all, I'm really happy to know someone actually reads my columns AND went to the trouble of visiting my website?!!! Yea!!! I'll take that as a major compliment. :) I wish you'd just emailed me my oversight, however. That would have been nice. I recently made the switch from FULL-ON-BROKER (!!!) to Buyer's Agent and have not had the opportunity to catch all the places where I might have made contrary statements. Since our lives live on in the world wide web FOREVER (like that ridiculous poem I wrote in college and self-published) it's sometimes difficult to keep tabs on every jot and tiddle. But anytime you have further questions about me, please feel free to call, email---or heck, post it here! I am happy to respond. Yours, Alisha
