How do you fit who you are into one little box? I don't know but I'm happy to hear from you if you've figured it out!

So, what can I say about myself? I can say that I have been a licensed Realtor for the last 8 years...blah blah blah!

I can tell you that Real Estate has been an interesting ride! Just when you think you've got it all figured out, the market changes and you have to start from scratch!

I'm ok with this because it keeps us on our toes, always learning and expanding outside of our comfort zone!

So, what do I promise? That I will represent you with integrity, and that I will make you laugh along the way, and who can't use more laughter in their life?

I hope you find something (or someone) to laugh at...TODAY AND EVERY DAY!

You hit the nail on the proverbial head! When I first started in Real Estate, I was "trained" to just put people in my car...after all they were sure to like me, build a relationship with me and then I'd be sure to make money hand over fist because of all the referrals they would send me....WRONG! The mileage I put on my car, plus the cost of maintenance and gas was OUTRAGEOUS! I quickly learned...QUALIFY QUALIFY QUALIFY. That took a little while since I was afraid to lose a "client". It is also my duty to stay in touch with them, communicate with them about their needs and adjust our search if something changed. I am much happier now treating my career as just that...a career in Real Estate...no taxi service light on my car anymore! Be strong enough to say "no thanks", be consistent enough to develop a relationship, be smart enough to ask for the business. Amanda Wernick @funomenalrealtr amandajwernick@gmail.com

Teresa, as always you hit the nail on the head...sometime agents forget that they are only getting ONE side of the story, but even more importantly and as you so eloquently state, they are offering advice that may not apply to a specific state. Stop and think about it...what if YOU were the agent the consumer was "complaining" about. Wouldn't you rather have the opportunity to address the issue rather than be lambasted online? We all know there are people out there who can never be satisfied, no matter how hard we work for them. I would hate to be judged by my peers without even having the opportunity to speak my case. It should go without saying...Real Estate is LOCAL...stick to your area of expertise and let the agents in their areas represent their areas. Common sense, respect for our industry and concern for our clients...THAT should be what we focus on! Amanda Wernick FUNomenal Realtr @funomenalrealtr amandajwernick@gmail.com

I always enjoy your articles and musings...you write eloquently on what seems to be the "end all be all" social media... I think that there are advantages to using it, but even that is still being tested. As I consumer, I don't want to be "sold". I want to engage with others that have used the products, but more than that, with companies who have impeccable customer service...if I know that I can reach a live body, versus logging on to a website to "live chat" when I have a problem, I am more apt to buy a product from that company. As a Realtor, I worry that we are all getting sucked in to believing that Social Media is the magic bullet...hard work, determination, integrity seem to have lost their way in this jumble of good intentions.
