I have been reading reports in the newspaper that their has been a massive increase in foreign investment in the UK, especially in the larger cities which is great news for the economy but really the economy will only see the long term benefit if these houses are lived in, money is spent locally using local supermarkets and trades. If these houses are being bought and being left empty it will have an effect on the economy. I read a report today that interest rates should remain low in the UK at least until 2010 so hopefully their will be renewed interest in property from local investment.
