Eric began his lending career in 1987, in San Diego. It was here that Mr. Nelson began building a back ground of client featured care, where the conversations led to ensure that the client was getting the very best program and interest rate available.

Mr. Nelson moved to Northern California to accept a promotion in 1995, running the largest office in Northern California for Household Finance. After successfully staffing and training that office, Mr. Nelson moved to the South Bay and began working as a wholesale lending representative.

Mr. Nelson launched his first mortgage company in 1999, and built it into an operation that was producing over $50 million in originations per year. In 2003, he sold Ocean Home Loans to First Horizon Home Loans and agreed to assist in building and designing the in house lending arm of that firm.

Mr. Nelson left after a year to return to the small company world of mortgage brokering, where he recruited and trained a in house lending unit for American Family Funding. In 2006, American Family Funding was sold to Countrywide, and Mr. Nelson was on to bigger and better things.

The Honte Group was founded in 2006 with business partner Rob McCarthy. The office is located in Campbell, CA and has an extraordinary array of talent that focuses on clients one at a time. We are able to offer Cal HFA loans, VA loans, Conventional financing as well as construction and resort financing.

With over 3,000 transactions closed over his career, Mr. Nelson continues to enjoy the individual challenge of working with clients who are first time homebuyers and with savvy investors who have been through it already.

Mr. Nelson has an extensive network of referral partners that he recommends and works with in order to understand the more specific concerns of a client.
