I agree...the rating system that "really matters" is the word of mouth exchange where real people share their real experience with each other. And increasingly, I see this interaction going online. Can some of the existing platforms be "gamed"? Probably. Will some disgruntled consumers bash us unfairly? Absolutely. But over time, I have to believe that the good comments will outshine the bad. Like it or not, this is what the consumer wants...correction, DEMANDS. I think that the agents who find a way to embrace this will come out ahead in the long run.
Frank...Love the Wheel-estate cam!! (Although I do need Deamamine before each episode). I'm not sure I'm ready to determine #1 status by 1099 income alone. I know plenty of brokers who make a living by discounting their fees (and service) and dominating their market share. Their 1099 looks terrific...but most of their clients would never use them again! I think we need a system where customers can rate their agents...sort of an "Epinions for Real Estate". Let the consumers decide who is best. More transparency is better than any "#1 award"
