My name is Eric LaVigne, and I'm the developer and chief cook and bottle washer for Hudson Valley Real Estate Network, a new regional Web site in New York State. My site offers free and premium Web listings, a free directory, news, blogs, and much more to come.

I've been in Web design since 1994 and am now an open source enthusiast specializing in database driven Web 2.0 sites and content management systems. I've also been in real estate since 1988 and have held my salesperson license twice -- in the late '80's just before the crash, and now again since 2004 -- er, just before the crash. Seeing the writing on the wall in late 2006 (since my getting licensed seems to be a little known economic indicator) I began development of Hudson Valley Real Estate Network, an idea that had been gestating for many years, and have now put my energy solely into Web development. And, in spite of my Web geekiness, I am fairly new to blogging, having first been trained "old school" as a writer with publishing credits in national and local newspapers, magazines, and journals since 1996.

While I 've done freelance development and code-jockey work for many projects and sites, Hudson Valley Real Estate Network is presently the only existing Web site I can call my own. Due to my extensive experience since the early days of the Web, my services now run the full gamut, including graphics, copywriting, design, custom coding, databases, project planning, site planning, content management systems, and search engine optimization, so can I work with clients from concept to completion -- or at any stage in-between.
