Ian Lazarus,CRS ian.lazarus@MyGo2REALTOR.com Nothing like stating the obvious David. I sure you said the same thing 10, 20 years ago. I started selling real estate as an onsite new construction rep on a midrise condominium project in Atlantic City in 1985 when interest rates were 18.9%. I thought that was good since the other agents told me they were higher a few years back. The point I'm going to make is from the prospective of a sales trainer/ manager. Here are 3 points to consider! Number 1: Don't hire anyone that isn't a salesperson even if they know alot of people. They will still sit in the office and not do anything. Number 2: We can teach everyone the same way how to do prospecting and most people will do it differently. As we all know its a numbers game and as long as you are talking, emailing, networking, and staying on message you will find people looking to buy or sell. Number 3: The only thing that is standardized is ethics training and we all know how that has been working out. REALTORS rarely will sign complaints against other REALTORS. Case in point most REALTORS will tell friends in other areas of the country to find the nastiest and most unethical REALTOR in your market to get you the most money in the fastest time. I have been training agents since 1988 and if they can't smell the blood ! Find someone who can. A good friend thats a broker told me the only way to fix a real estate business is to always be recruiting ! So what do you think ? Maybe Robin's fan page is doing it right, but from my experience on Robin's friend is a male basher. I know some of it is in jest, but it gets old quick. I had to delete her as a friend. I'm sure she is a very good REALTOR, but we aren't friends. Ian Lazarus,CRS The Lazarus Team The Landis Co., Realtors 4201 Landis Avenue Sea Isle City, NJ
