It would be great to see what the actual rents are in those markets to see what market actually has the highest return on investment :-) Jeff Manson http://www.adrhi.com - American Dream Realty Hawaii

I agree with Bob. A lot of these boards are not really representing their own member’s interests. They are more interested in making money off them instead of allowing them to have the tools to succeed. Some only allow them to use their own framed crappy solution. I have spoken with vendors and they have told me that in places like So Cal and Houston, make it impossible for new vendors to offer their members better solutions. I have heard they charge a new vendor something like $1000 a month in So Cal and something like $6000 a year in Houston. How can a new vendor offer their solution to a member of these boards when they only charge $69 - $100 a month for there solution? They can’t. Why not do something like they do in Denver? They charge like $10 a month to the vender for each member they have using their IDX solution. That makes for more competition and therefore a wider variety of solutions their members can choose from. The board would probably end op making more money in the end as well. I guess some boards are looking out for their members and some are not. Some boards charge the agents a high fee to get something other than the boards crappy solution. For Example: I pay $250 a month to Maui board, $150 a month for big Island & Kauai boards and $75 to the Honolulu boards. I am surprised they have got away with this so long.
