Excellent article again, Kris. It's a frustrating decision: try to charge set fees for specific services or offer 'free' services in order to prove your worth. I've learned from experience that trying to charge upfront for services is not accepted in the marketplace, yet. In my opinion, there are 2 reasons for this: 1) 99% of agents are offering 'free', so consumers will choose the option with upfront lower financial risk to them and 2) the general public does not respect our profession enough to pay for services upfront. If we can create a better public image to our consumers - mainly through increasing the standards of earning and maintaining a real estate license - then that is a great first step.
