I see this as another win for the good guys. People need options when buying or selling a home. You don't see stock exchanges blocking buy/sell orders from a non full cost brokerage, just as MLS's shouldn't be allowed to post anti-competitive rules for those charging less than 6. Utah Dave, If they have a house sitting on the market that long that costs them 100k, then the home wasn't priced correctly or didn't show well. You comment is ludacris. On the other hand, there is something to be said about listing with a flat fee discounter that does nothing but put the home on the MLS...but how many agents out there nowadays do extraordinary things to get a home sold??? YHD and Foxtons were some of the first discounters to the market. I feel the major flaw with Foxtons here in the US, was one, they spent cash like it grew on trees and two, their margins were way too thin.
