I'm a realtor in Hoboken NJ, just across the Hudson River from downtown Manhattan, and I specialize in condos. I was an attorney for a number of years and have an MBA in finance. My husband, also a realtor, is the other half of the Turoff Realty Team. We have a healthy, vibrant real estate market here in Hoboken. Going to work every day is more fun than the last. We deal with many first time buyers so I get huge satisfaction out of sharing my 25+ years of real estate investment experience with them. The big challenge in dealing with gen X and Y, of course, is staying in synch with the technology as it constantly changes. But then I just love a challenge.

I left corporate law and we founded an adventure travel company, La Corsa Tours, back in 1992. La Corsa Tours offers challenging bicycle vacations in France, Spain and Italy and I am still involved in that part-time. I speak fluent Italian and conversational French and Spanish and love both traveling and cycling to this day.

Hoboken, the "mile square city" is just across the Hudson River from downtown Manhattan. Most of our 45,000 residents commute about 10 minutes into the city for work but we get to live in a place that's a real community. As a realtor and home owner, I don't walk down the street without seeing a few people I know. (We're as urban as NYC, so walking or biking is the way to go.) My other passions are my yoga practice and our beautiful golden/chow dog, Sempai.

    That's easy: 1. My Blackberry Curve - for $50 I'm not going to get too upset if I drop it in the kitchen sink; 2. WiFi - especially when I'm on vacation in Europe. It lets me work from anywhere; and 3. google docs - also lets me access all my work from any internet connection anywhere.   • The Hoboken real estate

    The Hoboken real estate market has been relatively strong throughout the credit crisis. We are still priced at less than half of comparable Manhattan properties and the commute from Hoboken to Manhattan is as short as 10 minutes so we're a very viable alternative. I do stats for my market on my blog which you can see at http://hobokenrealestatenews.com The biggest changes have been: 1.) inventory is up - about 6 mo. absorption rate; 2.) prices are no longer rising - they are holding steady at about $500 / sq. ft. for condos (we have very few homes which are mainly brownstone row houses and are now selling in the $2 mil range); 3.) sellers still think their properties are worth more than they are; and 4.) buyers are waiting to buy thinking they are going to get some great bargain and it just ain't so!
