We formed Teles Properties with the idea of retaining as many good ideas that we could remember from the real estate companies that came before us, eliminating the wasteful ideas and practices of the old real estate model, and looking to great companies outside of real estate for additional inspiration. Companies like Goldman Sachs, Apple, and Google come to mind quickly. It took us almost two years of planning to realize that we wanted to offer extraordinary service, only hire productive and highly ethical salespeople, and give them and our customers the best tools possible. The key is to not waste resources on non-productive people and non-productive assets but to over-invest in productive people and tools.
