Marc LeVine is the Director of Social Media for RiaEnjolie, Inc. (http://www.riaenjolie.com/real-estate-websites.html) a NJ-based web development company specializing in professional looking and affordable websites for small businesses.

For many years, Marc LeVine has been relying on his creativity, ingenuity and excellent networking abilities to source and recruit highly experienced job candidates for employers from coast to coast.

In the late 80s and early-90s, Marc became highly sought after for the cutting-edge manner in which he embraced the Web and leveraged many of its evolving tools to develop new channels of recruitment for employers in numerous industries. Marc was among the first to embrace some of the earliest platforms (e.g. BBS’, Compuserve, AOL and Classmates) to network people seeking to hire or to seek work themselves.

Several testimonials appearing on his LinkedIn profile at http://www.linkedin.com/myprofile?trk=hb_pro clearly attest to the extraordinary satisfaction he delivered to his clients. In every case, the satisfaction has been based on Marc’s ability to find people, to hire through networking on the Web and through personal interaction as a true “Trust Agent.”

As a recruiter, Marc was responsible for all the hiring for The Lightstone Group in Lakewood, New Jersey and their many divisions and subsidiaries including Prime Retail and Extended Stay Hotels. Marc reported directly to company founder, David Lichtenstein.

Marc's successful recruiting background uniquely qualifies him to extend his core skill set, which is largely based on social media marketing, to smaller and medium-size businesses trying to balance their keen interest in participating in social media with their lack of available time and abilities.

A nationally recognized keynote speaker, consultant and trainer, Marc is also highly media savvy and has appeared as an employment expert and elected official on several televised business and public affairs programs. He has also been a published author on a variety of topics, including marketing, and enjoyed success as a syndicated writer – "The Job Marketeer,” and “The Web Recruiter.”

Marc is deeply civic and community minded and has enjoyed being a municipal elected official over the past two decades. He has also been appointed by a former New Jersey Governor as Vice Chair of the NJ Employment Council. He founded and chaired a county-based Transportation Management Association that developed a hiring/transportation model for his region. He has also served on the board of the Jersey Shore Association for Human Resource Management, SHRM.

A graduate of Syracuse University (NY), Marc resides in Freehold Borough (NJ) with his wife Betsy, their two Dachshunds and Maine Coon cat.

  • Marty: When you started off
    By Marc LeVineOctober 14, 2010 - 2:32pm

Marty: When you started off with "dead people," in real estate - no less - I wasn't quite sure where you were heading with your post. The good news is that you nailed your points. Nothing is more important than that in anything one writes. Your advice is sound. I suppose that if I wanted to sum it up for others, would I be wrong to tell them to write as natural as possible and make them feel like they are reading your piece with their robe and slippers on? At a time when most posts over 500 words rarely get read, I agree that helping to make the process as comfortable and interesting as possible is most often the best way to go. Marc D. • Pretty solid advice from
    By Marc LeVineOctober 14, 2010 - 2:22pm

Pretty solid advice from Mike. Following this plan should also involve considering a few other key points. Step 1 in any Social Media plan should always be establishing a respectable "home base" online - your Website. These days, some are using "Blogsites" in place of websites. Whichever you choose to represent you and your business, it must be professional looking; easy to navigate; offer excellent content; and be SEO friendly. You only get one chance to make a good first impression. And, you want to be easily found by your customers using the popular search engines. It should also be explained that Social Media is a marathon and not a sprint. No one reading this should be overwhelmed by the number of platforms discussed above. Work these at your own pace. All of these are NOT intended to be rolled out at once. However, these ARE the key sites in Social Media, today. Most of us should try to EVENTUALLY work them all into their Social Media Marketing plans. Mike is wise to refer everyone to the site instructions (re: platforms) for clarification on proper use. Alot of this stuff is geared to hands-on learning. Most of these sites were originally designed to be intuitive, so it is likely that you'll pick them up quickly. More importantly - focus your thinking on what you post and how you converse with others. The technology is much less important than the quality of the conversations. Great post, Mike! Marc D. • I find what is taking place
    By Marc LeVineOctober 14, 2010 - 1:58pm

I find what is taking place in the telecommunications world very interesting - especially, because it seems to be taking place very quietly. I wonder how many families, still have a land line telephone? Many people that I know have given those antiques up and now only use a cellphone. Many people also use VOIP, Skype and other less expensive (than land lines) technologies like MagicJack in place of their old wall phone or desktop units. Google Voice is just another step in the direction away from land line telephonics. I think this is all great. It is not only a major technical innovation, but - more importantly - a significant cultural shift. Marc D.
